If knee osteoarthritis is affecting your daily life-pain on stairs, stiffness, swelling, or difficulty walking-there are treatment options beyond “just pain tablets.”
At Arthritis and Rheumatology Care Bahamas, we offer Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) injections with an optional add-on called Alpha-2 Macroglobulin (A2M) for appropriate osteoarthritis patients.

What is PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma)?
PRP is a treatment made from your own blood.
A small blood sample is taken and processed so that the platelet portion becomes more concentrated. Platelets carry natural growth signals that play a role in tissue repair and recovery.
PRP is commonly used for:
- Knee osteoarthritis
- Chronic knee pain and swelling
- Degenerative meniscus irritation
- Overuse and sports-related knee pain
- Tendon and ligament injury
What is A2M
(Alpha-2 Macroglobulin)?
Alpha-2 Macroglobulin (A2M) is a naturally occurring protein found in your bloodstream.
In joint care, A2M is used in some cases as a biologic add-on designed to support a healthier knee joint environment by helping reduce the effects of certain inflammatory processes inside the joint.
A2M may be considered for patients who want a more advanced biologic knee-support plan.
